10-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

Five Star Epoxy & Coatings Inc. (CSLB #1141163) stands behind the surface preparation and installation that goes into every floor we coat. Our two-day epoxy full-flake system with polyaspartic topcoat is backed by a 10-Year Limited Workmanship Warranty. Below is a summary of what the warranty covers, what it excludes, and how to request service. Each customer receives a signed warranty certificate at project completion, and the certificate governs.

Qualifying System

This warranty applies to the professionally installed Two-Day Epoxy Full-Flake System with Polyaspartic Topcoat installed by Five Star Epoxy & Coatings Inc. Coverage is provided to the original customer at the original project address and runs for ten (10) years from the project completion date.

What the Warranty Covers

Five Star Epoxy & Coatings Inc. warrants that the covered floor system will remain free from delamination or loss of adhesion caused directly by defective surface preparation or application workmanship performed by Five Star Epoxy & Coatings Inc.

Our Remedy

After inspection and confirmation of a covered workmanship defect, Five Star Epoxy & Coatings Inc., at its option, will repair or recoat the affected area. This is the exclusive remedy under this limited warranty. The warranty does not provide a refund, full-floor replacement when a localized repair is reasonable, or reimbursement for work performed by another contractor. Exact color, flake pattern, sheen, or texture matching cannot be guaranteed on repaired areas due to aging, normal wear, product changes, and batch variation.

What the Warranty Does Not Cover

• Concrete and substrate conditions: cracking, movement, settling, expansion, contraction, spalling, scaling, pop-outs, weak or contaminated concrete, control-joint movement, or failure of any patch, topping, or prior coating not installed by Five Star Epoxy & Coatings Inc.
• Moisture: moisture-vapor transmission, hydrostatic pressure, efflorescence, groundwater, flooding, plumbing leaks, or any moisture condition originating in or beneath the slab, unless specifically covered by a separate written moisture-mitigation warranty.
• Use, wear, and damage: normal wear, scratches, gouges, impact, abrasion, tire marks, hot-tire pickup, burns, welding damage, dragged equipment, sharp objects, vehicle fluids, or damage caused by misuse, neglect, abuse, or use beyond the floor system’s intended service.
• Chemicals and heat: chemical exposure, spills left in place, battery acid, solvents, deicers, fertilizers, harsh cleaners, thermal shock, excessive heat, or substances outside the coating manufacturer’s published resistance limits.
• Appearance: normal changes in gloss, texture, color, or sheen; fading or discoloration; staining; dirt retention; variation in decorative flake distribution; or cosmetic conditions that do not involve covered delamination.
• Outside causes or alterations: water intrusion, fire, earthquake, acts of nature, building movement, construction activity, repairs, cuts, penetrations, modifications, or coating work performed by anyone other than Five Star Epoxy & Coatings Inc.

Warranty Conditions

• Account status: The contract price and all approved change orders must be paid in full.
• Care and maintenance: The customer must follow the written care and maintenance instructions and use reasonable measures to protect the floor.
• Notice: The customer must notify Five Star Epoxy & Coatings Inc. in writing within thirty (30) days after first discovering a possible covered defect.
• Inspection: The customer must provide reasonable access for inspection and allow Five Star Epoxy & Coatings Inc. a reasonable opportunity to perform an approved repair.
• No unauthorized repair: Repair, alteration, or recoating by another party before inspection may void coverage for the affected area.

How to Request Warranty Service

Send written notice and supporting photographs to Five Star Epoxy & Coatings Inc. Please include:

• Customer name and project address
• Project completion date
• Invoice or contract number
• Photographs and a clear description of the affected area

Additional Terms

This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original customer and the project address listed on the warranty certificate. Manufacturer warranties, if any, are separate and subject to the manufacturer’s own terms. The warranty certificate states the entire express 10-year workmanship warranty for the covered floor system and does not expand the scope of the original contract. Any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited under California law remain unaffected. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
