Laundry Room Floor Coatings
Create a clean, durable surface for your laundry room with a concrete coating system selected for your space. Coated floors are easy to maintain and can provide a finished look that complements your home.
We evaluate the existing concrete, moisture conditions, appliances, floor drains, and surrounding areas before recommending a suitable system.
LAUNDRY ROOMS WE COAT
Clean, Durable & Easy to Maintain
Laundry rooms deal with water, detergent spills, lint, and heavy appliances. A coated concrete floor gives you a seamless surface that’s easy to wipe down and looks finished.
Spaces
- Laundry rooms on concrete slabs.
- Laundry areas in garages.
- Utility rooms.
Finish Options
- Decorative flake finishes.
- Solid color finishes.
- Slip-resistant textures.
Why it matters: A laundry room floor sees water and weight that most rooms don’t. Choosing the right system for your slab and how you use the space helps the floor look good and hold up.
A SYSTEM SELECTED FOR YOUR LAUNDRY ROOM
Evaluation First, Then a Recommendation
Before we recommend a system, we look at the conditions your laundry room floor will actually face.
We evaluate:
- The existing concrete and any previous coatings or flooring
- Moisture conditions
- Appliance locations and access
- Floor drains
- Surrounding areas, thresholds, and transitions
Why evaluate first? Laundry rooms are often small, with appliances, drains, and doorways to work around. Planning around them up front is how we get clean edges and a floor that’s ready for everyday use.
WHAT WE EVALUATE
Every laundry room is different. Here is what we check during your estimate and how each factor shapes the system we recommend. We will walk you through the findings and help you choose the right system, color, and texture for your space.
| WHAT WE EVALUATE | WHAT WE LOOK AT | HOW IT SHAPES Your Finish |
|---|---|---|
| Existing Concrete | Cracks, pits, and any previous coating or flooring | Prep, repairs, and which system the slab can accept |
| Moisture | Moisture conditions in the slab and signs of leaks | Whether moisture mitigation is needed for proper adhesion |
| Appliances | Washer, dryer, and utility locations | Planning access and the work around appliance hookups |
| Floor Drains | Drain locations and the slope around them | How the coating is detailed at drains |
| Surrounding Areas | Walls, door thresholds, and adjacent flooring | Clean edges and transitions to nearby rooms |
A Premium Coating Is Only as Good as the Concrete Preparation Underneath It
Preparation is one of the most important parts of any coating installation. Every Five Star laundry room floor starts with mechanical diamond grinding.
Diamond Grinding, Not Acid Etching
We mechanically diamond-grind the concrete rather than relying on acid etching or simple chemical cleaning. Weak surface layers, contaminants, and previous coatings are removed when necessary, so the coating system bonds to sound concrete.
Edges, Drains & Thresholds
Laundry rooms are full of edges: walls, cabinet bases, floor drains, and door thresholds. These areas are prepared with handheld grinding equipment, so the surface is properly profiled edge to edge, not just in the open middle of the room. We use HEPA-filtered dust collection throughout the grinding process.
Repairs Before Coating
Cracks, pits, and surface imperfections are repaired as necessary before the base coat is applied.
Moisture, Traction & Easy Cleaning
Laundry room floors deal with water, spills, and heavy appliances. Here is what else we evaluate and offer.
WHAT YOU’RE PAYING FOR
We’d rather show you what goes into your floor than simply tell you we’re the best. Here’s what every Five Star laundry room floor is built on.
